Funding support for childcare providers

We provide funding for free early education places for all 3 and 4-year-olds and eligible 2-year-olds in Merton in the maintained, private, voluntary or independent (PVI) sectors.

Funding is provided for these 2, 3 and 4-year-olds for up to 570 hours of early education over the course of a year.

Apply for funding

Early education providers must make sure they have written approval from us and completed and submitted the Account Set-up spreadsheet to claim this funding before they can join the Directory of Providers of funded early education and offer free places to children.

From April 2017, there will be a national agreement for Early Education Funding, which all providers across all Local Authorities must adhere to. This will be made available via this website page as soon as it is published.

To receive funding you must meet the criteria laid out in the Code of Practice and Conditions of Funding of Early Education for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds and be listed in the Merton Directory of Providers.
