Community cohesion

Community cohesion is about communities working together to overcome common concerns and deliver common goals. It is also about building communities in which everyone feels they belong and where positive relations are formed within and across local communities.

This is done, in part, by tackling the barriers of race, faith, culture, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and helping to empower people to make reasonable choices about their lives.

Merton works in partnership to build good community relations to achieve a strong borough, more resilient to negative external influence that may arise
