Letter to Partners regarding E-Learning Offer

Merton Safeguarding Children Board

As of the 29 September 2017, the Merton Safeguarding Children Board will no longer be offering access to online safeguarding training by the Virtual College.  The Board has taken this decision in the light of limited take-up of online safeguarding training and the relative cost to the Board.   This means that we are no longer able to add new learners or additional courses to existing learners.

Learners will have until 29th October (one additional month) to complete any outstanding training and print off their course certificates.

If you wish to continue to offer an e-learning option for safeguarding training, there are a wide range of organisations offering good quality safeguarding training would you can purchase; these include

NSPCC https://www.nspcc.org.uk/what-you-can-do/get-expert-training/

The Virtual College https://www.virtual-college.co.uk/courses/safeguarding-courses

EduCare https://www.educare.co.uk/

High Speed Training https://www.highspeedtraining.co.uk/available-courses/safeguarding-people.aspx

The MSCB will continue to offer a wide variety of multi-agency safeguarding training including children protection awareness, recognition and referral.  The Vulnerable Children Team will also offer Safeguarding Training to Designated Safeguarding Leads.
