Trade parking permits

Trade permits are valid in every Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in the borough and are available to any business or tradesperson that provides proof that they need to operate in more than one CPZ within the borough.

If your vehicle is a diesel vehicle, from 1st April 2017 you will have to pay a surcharge in addition to the permit cost. The cost of the diesel surcharge is as follows;

For example, if you are purchasing a trade permit for 6 months, for a diesel vehicle in April 2017, the cost will be £600.00 permit price, plus £45.00 surcharge, a total of £645.00.

Eligibility

In order to prove your eligibility for a trade permit you must provide one of the following:

  • A letter on headed paper explaining why the permit is necessary for the day-to-day running of the business or;
  • A copy of a contract(s) containing the addresses within the CPZs; or
  • A copy of an instruction from resident(s) or property owner(s) of addresses within the CPZs to carry out works.

Trade permits are also vehicle specific so you must also provide proof of vehicle ownership at the time of your application.

Restrictions on use

Trade permits are valid in shared use bays (bays in which both permits and pay & display tickets are valid) and in permit holder bays.  Trade permits are NOT valid in 'Resident permit holder only' bays or pay & display only bays. Please check the roadside signs before parking. Trade permits are not valid in any car parks. Please note that if your permit is lost we will not issue a replacement and you must purchase a new permit.

Woodville Road Pelham Road - Junction of Gladstone Road to junction of Southey Road
York Close Russell Road - Junction of Broadway to Pelham Road

If you have a need to use a trade permit in one or more of these roads please submit a letter explaining why alongside your application and we will consider granting an exemption from the restriction.
