Public rights of way

An adopted road (highway) is a road where we are responsible for maintenance including the upkeep of street lighting, carriageways, footpaths, street furniture, carriageway markings and highway drainage.

A street list showing which roads are adopted is available in Merton Link at the Civic Centre. If more information is required a written enquiry is needed. The map of adopted highway shows the areas that we are responsible for.

The definitive map of Public Rights of Way (PRWs) and the maps of adopted highway are available to the public for viewing during working hours at Civic Centre, by appointment.
